These are good bits. They do a very good job on red oak. The finish is good, ready to finish.
I used this router bit set to make kitchen cabinet doors and they turned out great. The bits are sharp and rugged. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a quality raised panel set.
Make sure to check the speeds on your router. They got delivered fast and made it a lot easier.
This is my first time making a set of doors. They came out perfect.
What else would you expect but quality. I bought the phenolic sheet and a grizzly clamp off of Amazon.
The setup is easy if you follow the instruction video or the paper they give you. I found it a must, to make a router table sled for doing the rails.
It prevents the back of the wood from blowing out. The back cutter feature makes the set even nicer.
The backcutter is also a pain because you have to adjust the fence with every pass. If you notice the bit for making the raised panel does not have a bearing. You always have to use a fence on the router table so arch panel doors are not an option. Without the backcutter all you need to do is gradually raise the bit with each pass. I originally bought these and sold them for CMT which are much better bits.
Variable speed is much more important that HP.If you don't set the rpm as recommended in DVD, which is included, it's possible for you to get injured or mass up the work.Good router table is also a must.Instruction DVD is very helpful to avoid any injuries and to get good result. To use this bit set properly, you need at least 2 1/2 HP router with variable speed. I tried to used this bit without watching DVD, all work pieces were massed up and hurt my fingers. 3 or more HP is recommended but variable speed control is a must have. For best result you have to adjust rpm: 17500rpm for rail and stile bits, 12000rpm for panel bit. After watching DVD, everything goes flawlessly. I made a real nice panel door from the first try by following the instruction on DVD.You may need good clamp set for glueing rails and stiles.Recommend this set to anyone who wants to make cabinet doors.Back cutter in the panel bit helps a lot to make the door in good shape.Spend few more bucks to get the bit with back cutter.
